• There are 25 students
• 30 computers are available and connected to the Internet
• Each student works with one computer.

Warming Up

• Teacher asks the students to make groups of 4, only one group will consist of 5 students.
• Teacher gives a page of short story, but it had been cut into some parts.
• Teacher asks the students to rearrange the story into a good story.
• Teacher discusses the right answer with the students

Main Activity

• Teacher asks the students to identify the generic structure and the tenses used in the story.
• Teacher discusses the answer with the students.
• Teacher introduces blog to the students and asks the students to create blogs.
• Teacher ask the students to make a short story and post the story in their own blog. They can make the story in the lab and continue it at home if they have not finished yet.
• Teacher asks the students to give comments, corrections on grammar, and suggestions on their friend's story to improve their friends' skill in writing. (at home)

Why should we write argumentative essay?

Why do we need to write argumentative essay? That is because we need to give our arguments, opinions or response about an issue or a problem. We need to show whether we agree or disagree with one's statement or opinion. Because all of us have different opinion and response about that. We also need to show up our minds, What's my opinion or responsibility as a human about that issue?

Argumentative essay is made to persuade people or opposite audience to support one's opinion or statement and believe it. That is why argumentative essay is used in debate contest. The team always tries to make the opposite team agree with their statement. In this case, one should make it correctly base on the steps "how to write an argumentative essay" and one has to use accurate data, so it will help one in giving one's argument.

In our daily life, we usually make many arguments about an issue or a problem in that moment. When we are gossiping or talking about news, we always make arguments to support that issue or to against that. We make our statements, and show it up to our friends. And sometimes we are debating because we have different arguments or opinions.

Finally, argumentative essay is needed to be learnt by us as people who need to show up our minds. ^^

Seventh Assigment of Paragraph Writting

My saddest moment

That was a very tired week, during 7th February until 14th February 2009. My family had come to Jogja because my second sister got married at 14th February 2009. That was a very special day. Because that was valentine’s day. My big family came from Kefa to follow the wedding party. They were my grandfather, grandmother and her 8 sisters, and the other family. We were very busy, some went to shops to buy dresses, shoes, etc. and some just stayed at home and prepared all things.

Finally, the wedding day came. We got up early in the morning. All of us were busy prepared ourselves to go to church. But before we went to church, we went to Kencana to take some pictures there. Then the wedding blessed at the church began. Everyone was very happy, especially both of the newlyweds. Then the special moment in the church ended. We went back to our home and took a rest for several hours. After that, we got up and prepared ourselves to follow the wedding party. We went to the party together. We should go earlier to get ready to accept the guests.

That was so dark, because that was night and the party almost ended. Some were happy to take some pictures with the newlyweds and some had enjoyed their food and the music there. Then the party ended happily. We were very tired. Then we went back to our home and took a sleep.

15th February was coming. My grandmother and grandfather had a plan to go to Tangerang at the night. So they went to Tangerang at 7 pm with my aunt and uncle by train. That was the last time I could see my grandfather. At that day, I stayed with my parents, my brother, my old sister and her husband in a hotel. 5.30 am at 16th February, my mother phone rang. The tone had made everyone got up from sleep. I was very shock when I heard my mother cried and asked my aunt, who had made the call: “What happened? What happened to father?” Then I knew that something had happened to my grandfather. I felt bad at that time. Because my grandfather was very ill and he was in a hospital in Tangerang. My sister and I just prayed to God. That was the thing that we could do at that time. We prayed, may God want to save him. But God had different plan. My grandfather died at 6 am. All of us were very sad and we did not know how to think. Then my father told my sister to buy tickets for all of us. My mother and father will go to Tangerang first and they will take the flight to Kupang at 17th February. So, we went together to Kefa at 17th February. That was my saddest moment. Lost our lovely person.

My Habitual Activities

I don’t have an accurate time for waking up in the morning. That depends on when I start my daily activities. That is one of my bad habits. I usually do not take my breakfast, because I live in boarding house and no body prepares my breakfast like my mother. Hehehehe. So, I never take my breakfast since I lived in the boarding house. I always take a bath 1 hour before I go to campus, then I prepare myself to go to campus. I always go to campus 15 minutes before the time for my first class in that day. I go to campus on foot and it takes 10-15 minutes. Then I begin my study activities until finish, and then I take my lunch with my friends, and go back to my boarding house. Sometimes I take a nap, but usually not. Then I take a bath and browsing Internet. And this is my bad habit, too that I never study if no exams or homework. Huaaaaaaa. I must change my bad habits. I always make my room tidy before I go to sleep and then I take 30 minutes until 1 hour for my private prayer and reading bible. But in these later weeks I was lazy to do my private prayer. Oh my God, forgive me. Then after that I finish my day with night prayer. I usually go to sleep at midnight, also bad habit. Huuuufffftttt T.T

My Boarding House

Every student from different places needs boarding house for live. So do I. Because I come from Kefa and I don't have family here. My boarding house is one of the boarding houses in papringan. It is in ampel street. The right side of my boarding house is a small shop, which sells many kinds of soft drinks, on the left is a small laundry shop, and on the front is a small comics rental. If I want to go to campus, I just go north. It is about 10-15 minutes on foot. Then if I go south, I will arrive in Solo street.

My boarding house isn't too big, but it has 2 floors. And I have took a room on the 2nd floor. My boarding house has 24 rooms for rent. 10 rooms on the 1st floor and 14 rooms on the 2nd floor. It has 2 kinds of rooms. Another is 3x3 meters and the other is 3x4 meters. And each room facilitated by a bed, a table, a chair, a cupboard, a mirror and a curtain. The price also different. The smallest room costs Rp. 275.000 and the biggest one costs Rp. 300.000. My boarding house also has a kitchen, a dinning room, a living room, a waiting room, a store-room, a garage and 8 bathrooms ( 4 bathrooms on the 1st floor and the others on the 2nd floor ).

The area inside my boarding house is very clean and the air also fresh. There are many plants inside the boarding house. So no pollution there. That really makes me comfort. The owners and the people who live there also friendly. So, I think it's the best boarding house.

So, girls (not boys, because it's a women boarding house), if you are confused about finding the comfortable boarding house, just come here in my boarding house. Then you will find the comfortable place for live. ^^

My Favourite Lecturers

I have many lecturers in Sanata Dharma University. Most of them are good in teaching. Of course yes, that's why They were chosen as the Lecturers of Sanata Dharma University. They have different personality and also different ways in teaching. Some of them can make the class be more cheerful but others just make the class more bored. Most of them are sociable and friendly, but some are temperamental , unhappy-looking and serious.

Every student has their favourite lecturer, so do I. Actually I have 2 favourite lecturers. Another is a man and the other is a woman. Both of them are funny. They can make the class be more colourful. I really like for being their student. Because I really enjoy my class with them. My man lecturer has a short wavy black hair, strongly build body and has lightly tanned skin. He is about 180 cm, so he is a tall man. He is in his thirty and he wears glasses. Then my woman lecturer has a short straight black hair, a pretty fat body, and lightly tanned skin. She is a little bit short. She is about her thirty and she is married. Both of them have great senses of humor. They can make everyone laugh, although what they have said wasn't really funny. Have you get the point? Can you guess who are they now?

Let me explain more about them. They are good in teaching. They always have the way for making joke in the class. They are intelligent people, and they can transfer their knowledge to their student greatly. They are friendly too, so many students like to be with them. They also have the spirit that everyone may not has. They always motivate us to be better in English. Of course with their own way. So, that's all about my favourite lecturers. I think, now you can guess who are they. Let's try to guess it! ^^

The Process of Making Flannel Accessory

Flannel is a warm fabric made from loosely spun yarn. It usually use for making many kinds of accessories, like phone bags, small bags, names tag, small dolls, etc. It has many colours. So, one can use the colour that one likes.

Here is how to make an accessory of name tag.

The ingredients that one needs are:

1st flannels, 14 cm for lenght and 6 cm for width (howmany layers of flannels one needs are depend to howmany words included ones name and the colours are depend too)

2nd flannels, 4 cm for lenght and 0,5 cm for width (depend to howmany 1st flannels are)

3rd flannels, 5 cm for lenght and 3 cm for width (depend to howmany 1st flannels are)

Yarn (how long is depend to ones needed and wanted)

UHU Glue

Fold the 1st flannels in 2 sides and cut it in a form of shirt. One can sew both of the edges of that small shirt, like the original and one can only use UHU glue in the edges, but one must not sew or glue the sleeves. Continue to make all to be shirts. Glue the 2nd flannels on the top of that shirts in a form of lapel. For the 3rd flannels, one can cut it into the words of ones name and glue it in the centre front of the shirts. Cut the yarn as much as one needs, put the shirts one by one through the yarn. That accessory is already to use. One can use that accessory at many place one wants.
